In certain specific cases.<br\/>But the question isn&#8217;t <em>&#8220;Do I want no-prep veneers?&#8221;<\/em> \u2014 it&#8217;s <em>&#8220;Does my clinical situation allow for them?&#8221;<\/em>  <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-ce-qu-est-reellement-une-facette-sans-preparation\">What a No-Prep Veneer Really Is<\/h3>\n\n<p>A dental veneer is a thin ceramic shell bonded to the visible surface of the tooth. In the classic protocol, the tooth is slightly prepared \u2014 a thin layer of enamel is removed to allow for optimal bonding and a natural result. <\/p>\n\n<p>In the no-prep protocol \u2014 no tooth reduction. This is not a viable option in such cases. <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>The tooth is recessed<\/strong> When a tooth is slightly recessed compared to neighboring teeth, the veneer naturally fills this space and aligns the smile. The result is natural without creating excessive thickness. <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>No bruxism or loss of vertical dimension<\/strong> Bruxism \u2014 teeth grinding \u2014 generates significant occlusal forces that can fracture a no-prep veneer. Long-term stability is compromised. <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-quand-les-facettes-sans-preparation-ne-sont-pas-indiquees\">When No-Prep Veneers Are Not Indicated<\/h3>\n\n<p>The following situations suggest a minimal preparation \u2014 even slight:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Locked occlusion \u2014 direct contact on the future veneer<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Uncontrolled active bruxism<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Loss of vertical dimension<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Already bulky teeth \u2014 the veneer would create visible excess thickness<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>In these cases, minimal preparation remains the safest and most predictable long-term solution. It doesn&#8217;t mean &#8220;damaging the teeth&#8221; \u2014 it means creating the clinical conditions for a lasting result. <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-ce-que-les-patients-ignorent-souvent\">What Patients Often Don&#8217;t Know<\/h3>\n\n<p>The majority of patients requesting no-prep veneers are motivated by two fears \u2014 fear of damaging their teeth and the desire for a reversible solution.<\/p>\n\n<p>These fears are legitimate. But the answer isn&#8217;t systematically &#8220;no-prep&#8221; \u2014 it&#8217;s &#8220;minimal preparation when clinically indicated.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n<p>A preparation of a few tenths of a millimeter in enamel \u2014 performed with precision \u2014 does not weaken the tooth. It creates the conditions for optimal bonding and natural thickness. <\/p>\n\n<p>The goal isn&#8217;t to reduce \u2014 it&#8217;s to do the strict minimum for a reliable and lasting result.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-la-decision-toujours-individualisee\">The Decision \u2014 Always Individualized<\/h3>\n\n<p>Each case is different.
